The Director's Column

Our new new meeting place:
I want to apologize to two members who attended the supposed January meeting; I didn't get around to changing the web page meeting notice until too late.  I hope to see all of you there February 21st.  Classroom 1 is next to the Emergency Room.  Most classrooms open onto E-W halls, but Classroom 1 is around the corner from the hall opening to the street.

Medicare D:  I hope you all are doing well with Medicare part D.  As my doctor says. it should have been handled like Medicare parts A and B; that is, let your pharmacy bill Medicare just as the doctor does now for medical care.  I am still struggling.  I tried to sign up with Medco's company, YouRx, but I couldn't get registered in time to get my medicine, and I needed to call them and transfer all my prescriptions.  Instead I tried to cancel.  I don't know if I succeeded.  I also tried to get on wife Jane's TRS plan since Raytheon cancelled their plan and became secondary, whatever that means.  At present I am going out of the country.  My Lupron has gone from nothing to $40/quarter to $1100/quarter.  I am considering other options such as an orchiectomy if it is as effective.

Happy Valentine's Day.  See you at the February meeting.  Jerry Bylander

Henri has suggested that an interesting website is:  Here is a link to a German scientist who has a good test for systemic cancer so as to not put a man through therapies that cannot succeed.
