An interesting column published Saturday, January 7th in the Dallas Morning News on Page 7D. It was entitled "This Dying Stuff is Getting Old". The author tells us that "… getting old is one thing: dying is another thing (because you are still alive while you are doing it)". A pet peeve of mine is an abundance of articles about new diagnostic tests for PC or about new treatments for failed PC therapy. These promised treatments/tests are at least three years away and then urologists and oncologists must be trained in their use. Many of these reports are to help the researcher get funding or to get promoted at their university. Also many of the techniques do not pan out and raise false hopes. There must be a better way. See you on Tuesday, February 17th when we learn about how diet can help with PC therapy. Jerry Bylander, Managing Director, USToo! Texoma |
